Taming of the Skin

Kiss My Face Skin care

Recently I have been noticing an array of skin rebellion that seems to be camping out on my face these days. Blame it on the changing seasons, lack of sleep or general need to slough off last season, my skin seems to be on the receiving end of all this epidermal craziness. Would there be any better time to try out some of the new fangled skin care solutions?  I think not and with so many new products made just for skin rebellion, I have decided to take one for the team and give my fickle skin the test drive of its life.

Kiss My Face Potent and Pure System  http://www.kissmyface.com

Cleanser: Clean for a day Creamy Face Cleanser. This is soap free formula derived from sugar and corn has a pleasant, lemony scent, and has the consistency somewhere between cold cream and milky cleanser. It goes on really nice, doesn’t drip everywhere and feels good on the skin. After I massaged it in for a few minutes (they recommend using circular motions across the skin, although I find using a facecloth will do the same thing in a shorter time) my skin felt fresh without any dryness. It also removed any residual makeup and the final results were my skin felt super clean and hydrated.

Pore Shrink Deep Cleansing Mask: One of the problems with having combination skin, is the constant battle to keep my pores from looking like craters, so a weekly mask is a must. KMF Deep cleansing mask is a clay-based mask may seem lightweight but it packs a powerful punch. Once I had applied a thin layer all over, I immediately felt a cooling, almost prickly, sensation. I loved this feeling, however it was pretty intense so I probably wouldn’t recommend for those delicate petal types. As it dried I could feel it pulling whatever gunk was lodged in my pores and the cooling/tingling sensation lasted (mainly due to the Cloves, tea tree oil extracts) till I was ready to remove the product. I used a soft facecloth to remove the mask and it came off pretty easily, without any hard as pebble residue common for some clay-based masks. My skin felt amazingly clean and upon closer ( 20xMirror in hand! ) inspection, my pores were clear and tight.

Antioxidant Toner: I love this spray toner. Not only does it smell absolutely incredible ( think fresh citrus grove -grapefruit, lime and orange to be exact) mixed with a hint of spice ( Ginger) it’s loaded with seaweed extract and trace minerals, as well as KMF’s antioxidant combo, Ester-C, it helps to combat aging and dehydration. I re- hydrated my skin throughout the day and it gave my skin a beautiful dewy finish, yet never looked oily. I love any kind of scented water for the skin but this one goes above and beyond. I used it in the mornings, midday and after cleansing in the evening. Let’s put it this way, after the testing period, I ran out and got myself another bottle, which I use constantly.

C the Change Ester C Serum: Usually, I am not big on loads of moisturizer for my skin as I have an active T-Zone that when over hydrated, could help reduce the need for some of  the off shore drilling just by my skins contribution alone! While this excess of sebum is quite good for staving off wrinkles, its pretty bad for maintaining a polished beauty look. The biggest problem is that while my overly active pores are mostly centrally located, that leaves the rest of my face needing more attention. Instead of using a variety of creams and potions my solution is to opt for serum formulas. KMF offers a great serum called Ester C.  This product has a super lightweight texture and goes onto the skin as a sheer film, dries matte and leaves the skin supple and smooth. After a few weeks, I noticed that the texture on the drier parts of my face and the oiliest parts were both supple and smooth. For once I had found a great product that tackled the needs of my touchy skin and with the amped up super antioxidants,it really seems to be keeping it in balance. Like all the KMF lineup, the serum contains only certified organic plant oils and contains absolutely no parabens.

Kiss my Face, indeed. That’s enough to put a smile on it, for sure.
